Call for Paper
The JFA-PBFJ Special Issue Conference cordially invites submission of research papers in all areas of finance. Both theoretical and empirical papers can be considered for presentation, while submitted papers should have implications on Japanese financial market. The Special Issue Conference provides an open platform for finance scholars to promote cutting-edge research and share ideas on Japanese financial market. Potential research topics include but are not limited to:

Language:
Papers must be written in English. Presentations can be made either in English or Japanese. Please choose your presentation language in submission process.
Session structure:
General session presentations consist of 17 minutes presentation, 8 minutes discussion, and 5 minutes open Q&A. The conference will also offer Finance Camp sessions, in the afternoon of March 14, to support young scholars (younger than 40 years old or within 5-years from the award of doctoral degree) for their international activities. Finance Camp sessions run in longer time frame to have intensive discussions and advising (25 minutes presentation, 10 minutes discussion, and 5 minutes open Q&A). Experienced researchers will be assigned as a discussant in Finance Camp sessions. Presenters of Finance Camp Session must be a JFA member or apply for JFA membership by March 1, 2022.

Research Excellence Awards:
Presented papers are eligible for research excellence awards, which will be selected by the Award Committees. Award winners must submit the paper to the special issue.
- JFA Best Paper Award (One Award; USD1,000)
- The Pacific-Basin Finance Journal Research Excellence Awards (Two Awards; USD1,000 each)
- Plutus Consulting Research Excellence Awards (Two Awards; USD1,000 each)
- Bureau van Dijk Award (One Award; USD1,000)
Submission to PBFJ Special Issue
Conference papers are invited to submit to the special issue of Pacific-Basin Finance Journal. Submission deadline is May 15, 2022. Submission fee must be paid and submitted papers follow the standard review process. Conference presentation does not assure publication in the special issue.
